Description.

Thermal imaging cameras for process control

Process control is all about measuring temperatures and/ or determining the shape of certain products on a production line. The acquired data is used to control and improve the process so that the temperatures or shapes are according to specification.

The greatest challenge for the production process  is to secure a constant temperature monitoring. Even in the pilot production, a continuous temperature measurement is essential to optimize the process and maximize both quality and output of the serial production.

Condition monitoring at Predicted maintenance toidentifying problems before failure occurs in order to prevent costly production stops. Typical equipment that is monitored includes high- and low voltage installations, turbines, compressors and other electrical and mechanical equipment.

Anomaly can cause dangerous situations. Flares, that often have a flame that is not visible , need to be monitored to see if they are effectively burning the produced gasses. A steel ladle that suddenly breaks open can create dangerous situations.

Component

Infrared camera / pyrometers

The infrared camera  allows for exact measurements from an object size of 1.5 mm, measurement speed of 120 Hz, for process automation as well as for portable measurement tasks.

B-SPECTRAL technology, allowing the combination and synchronous recording of real-time and thermographic videos and images.

Infrared camera up to 2000 °C  and pyrometers up to 3000 °C

The thermal imager  decreases measurement errors resulting from unknown or changing emissivities. Due to the spectral range as well as the continuous measurement range from 900 to 2000 °C, the infrared camera is perfectly suited for temperature measurements of molten metals.

temperature measurement in the glass industry

the camera measures in only one spectral range  were kept to allow for the capturing of real-time thermal images of everything from glass beads right up to large panes.

The IR camera is used as a line-scan camera in the field of sheet glass production and offers various possibilities for documenting and controlling the process.

temperature measurements of metals

as these exhibit a distinctly higher emissivity at the short measurement wavelength of 1μm than at measurements in the previously conventional wavelength range of 8-14 μm.

In parallel with the visualization of a thermal process, the high-performance sensor electronics allow a short reaction time of 1ms for the displaying of the temperature information of the center pixel.
